Last year I bought a MacBook and now wanted to upgrade to a bigger HDD. I backed up all my data to an external and took out the original MacBook HDD and have installed a spare 160GB HDD that was in an older Windows notebook so basically still has the Windows OS on it. When I boot up the MacBook and go to Disk Utility, the new HDD isnt showing up, just the DVD drive is present. Should I of reformatted the HDD before I put it into the Mac and erased all the Windows data or is there some other problem?

Thanks in advance 🙂

I think you may have installed it correctly i would check all the connections and then maybe you should reformat it
