Time Capsule with attached storage, slowdowns?

I am thinking about getting the Time Machine and attaching all of my hard drives to the USB port with a powered hub, and accessing them either wirelessly or with the gigabit Ethernet connection.

Is this set up bound for slowdowns? I keep all my movies and TV shows on the external drives.
