Velociraptor at NewEgg - Can it fit on a MP's Optical Drive bay?

Hello,

I see the new 300GB 10,000RPM 3.0 GB/s 16MB Cache is available at newegg.com for $299.99, however it's been said that since it's a 2.5 form factor it wouldn't fit on the MP's HD bays.

It comes with in a 3.5 enclosure mounting frame, so would this fit on the second Optical drive bay of the MP? Is there another enclosure one could put this in to fit in the regular Drive bays?
 
Yep it can go into the second optical bay. You need a 3.5" to 5.25" adapter. There's a pretty good writeup on xlr8yourmac.
 
It will probably be loud there. Nothing to block the noise from the drive to the outside of the case but the front mesh.
