A woman has been arrested in Japan for sneaking into a man's house and living in his closet without him knowing.

Police found 58-year-old Tatsuko Horikawa living in a small storage space in the house in the southern city of Fukuoka.

The house belonged to a 57-year-old man, who had become suspicious after food disappeared from his fridge.

Well I guess it could have been much worse… 😱

I'm sure he suspected. The signs were there all along. It was a relief when she finally did come out of the closet.

Now why did you have to go and attach that photo? 😱 <shudders in corner... but not in closet> 😛

A pic is worth a thousand words… 😛
But it was the first thing that popped in my mind when I read the story…

Ah great, now that she's not living in that closet, you're going to find her wandering outside alone, homeless, moving from one dyke to another.

He got suspicious when food began disappearing from his fridge.

Heck yes. I'd be pretty darned creeped out too. I'm SURE I bought more eggs than this!

I wonder if dishes started appearing dirty in his sink, too, or did she clean them?

Leaving signs like this would be a dirty (but funny) mind trick to play on someone, if you got keys to their place.

BBC says she lived there for a year.

Who doesn't open up there closet for a whole year??

The dude must has suspected it... although it was a funny read.

Chicago Tribune said:
She had moved a mattress into the small closet space and even took showers, Itakura said, calling the woman "neat and clean."
If I found a neat and clean Japanese woman living in my closet I'd hand her a mop and bucket and tell her to stay out of sight and have my supper ready by 5:30. 🙂

I remember a similar story here in England a few years ago. A homeless man lived in a family's loft for a while and took food from their cupboards when they were out, and **** in biscuit tins.

I almost got away with it too, frazzle razzle.

.

That is hard to imagine, someone living in your closet for a year and not knowing that something was up...but I suppose stranger things have happened... 🙂
