This feels like a silly question, but is there a way to have Date & Time display the month and date, in addition to the day of the week and time on the top bar?

There are check boxes for 'Show AM/PM' and 'Show day of the week' but not date and month (and/or year).

Customise the dates, switch to Medium length, copy the extra stuff you want in the menubar. Customise times section, and paste in what you want. I like putting a | between them.

Hmmm... I'm running 10.5.3 and I went to:

System Preferences... > Date & Time > Open International... > Formats tab > Customize...

But... when I change it, the clock on the menu bar stays the same. It seems like you shouldn't have to work so hard to get the date to display in the menu bar... I'm not sure I went to the same customise place you're talking about.

Well, my menubar looks like this:

and in Medium mode, my Times section looks like this:

I figured it out -- you have to cut and paste the date next to the time manually. I should think they would just put it as an option in the 'clock' section.

Thanks for your help psychofreak.
