hi guys!

I need desperately to connect a G4 400mhz running OSX 10.2 to a pc pentium 3 running windows 2000 advanced server.
I have tried all the possible options without any result.
Could anyone be kind enough to explain me step by step how to set this up.
Some people say say I need a crossover cable other say i don't
Please help me!!!!!

You need to use a crossover cable or crossover adapter with regular ethenet cable in order to establish a direct connection. Mac-Mac can often work without one, but PCs generally cannot. You can also use a hub instead.

I don't know about the Mac you are using, so you may or maynot need the cross over cable.
But you will need to make sure thay have IP addresses. This is where Rendezvouz is very nice.
Anyway, make sure they both have IP addresses, then you can use "ping" on the command line to see if the machines are "talking".
