Hello,

I'm using Final Cut Pro 6.0.3, and I downloaded two *.dmg files containing recordings from the SDHC cards of a Canon HF-10 camera. So, I load the dmg, copy its contents starting with the PRIVATE folder into a new folder (which is supposed to give it a reel ID), fire up Final Cut, open a new sequence set to AppleProRes 4:2:2, go to Log and Transfer, and click on the upper right most icon to load the folder.... and Final Cut Pro just closes, no error, no nothing.

I checked the Final Cut Requirements for AVCHD (http://www.apple.com/finalcutstudio/specs/) and it says "AVCHD and AVC-Intra editing support using ProRes (requires Mac Pro)". So do you really need a mac pro to edit AVCHD footage using Final Cut ?? Or is it crashing for another reason ?

I can't see it stating "Mac Pro" if that wasn't the case ..

Ok but I have read that there are some workarounds for people using other computers than mac pros to enable FCP to capture AVCHD.
