iBook Clamshell Battery--- HELP!

Hey,

My iBook's battery turns off the machine about 3 minutes after taking the charger off! The battery cant be low!! It just turns off.

Any other solution than buying a new computer? And if not any UK people know where to get one?

Well, my friend had this same problem with his clamshell iBook after about 2 years. It just got old I guess. If you want, you can get a new battery on eBay for your iBook, or, as I reccommend, you could get a new iBook. 2 years.....it's about time, I think. Depends on your finances.

What dose the Battery meter read during those 3 minutes? Have You recently installed OS 10 or are You using OS 9??

I got a new iBook battery for $120 (I think) at the MacWorld Creative Pro Expo NY 03. It worked great. The company I got it from is "Battery Technology-BTI" That's what it says on the box.

You can try running that app called "Battery Amnesia" that will run your battery down, I don't know if this would help your situation but it could help get some more time out of the battery. Good Luck!
