iChat behavior post 10.5.3

Anyone having any iChat issues post 10.5.3? Specifically, a new contact has been created for everyone I had in my google chat account (and the only information under each new contact is other: john.doe@gmail.com). I've tried deleting the plist, deleting and resetting the account etc, but each time, a new contact is created in my address book. Anyone have any suggestions?
