Editting an mp4 video clip

Hi guys

I took some small video on my mobile phone last night and I want to try edit them quickly but am having no luck

I tried to import them in FC express but it could not do it, so i tried to convert the video using mpeg stream to another format and that would not recognise the video.

Anyone know how I can get this video into FC to edit it?

We'll need more info: what phone did you use, what codec does it use, etc.

sorry I did not realise you needed that phone as its simply an mp4 file

The phone I used was the htc tytn II if thats any help.

it's sometimes a matter of which codec is used to make the mp4 file. But try using iSquint (google it) to convert it to a workable file. If that doesn't work, your file might be corrupted

i have tired isquint but had no luck.

I can play the file fine with VLC and quicktime so why can't i edit it.

this is really pissing me off
