I often use my Macbook Pro out on the deck.

Problem is, with my Airport Extreme Base Station hundreds
of feet away on the opposite far end of the house, I can hardly
pick up a Wi-Fi signal.

What is the most effective way to boost the signal strength?

I came across a product http://www.macwireless.com/html/products/antennas_boosters/airport_booster_mini.php, but not sure how well it will work.

Appreciate any suggestions -- especially from those who have
successfully boosted their signal.

Best way is to run in 2.4GHz mode either n only or b/g/n compatibility mode. Externals are useless since the AEBS has nowhere to connect it.

Why not add an airport express halfway along and extend the network that way?

Can you explain how that is done?

I already am using an Airport Express for wireless access
to my printer.

How exactly do I set up an additional unit to extend WiFi range?

Really appreciate the help.
