Are 1 gig sticks something that some company has announced they will definately be doing, or are you merely assuming they will be produced? (Because I, too, am thinking of adding ram to my 17 inch powerbook.)

The new 17" that I just purchased is 2GB RAM capable. You can get it through apple for a price, I was wondering if anyone has it cheaper.

I don't feel like spendin $1600 USD for two 1gig strips.
