looking for a good travel guitar ultra portable

Hi,

looking for a good travel guitar maybe with pre-amp that I can hook either headphones or an amp into.

Don't need it to be acoustic but would like something that maybe "breaks" down smaller for traveling on planes.

Any suggestions?
 
Lol, I think bumping is frowned upon in these forums. I don't think there's a guitar like the one you describe. Guitars can only be shrinked to a certain size, if they were made any smaller, they wouldn't have the proper length to achieve the string tension required for the notes on a guitar. I've never seen any guitars with easily detachable parts. I think your best shot is a durable electric-acoustic, probably made out of composite, such as an ovation with a tiny amp if required (probably not, these guitars are loud enough by themselves). You could always pick up the mandolin 😉
 
I don't think what you're looking for exists, but I suppose you could remove the bolt-on neck from a Squier travel Stratocaster.

I have this electric/acoustic. It's light, sturdy and sounds decent.

I also have a Ukelele that I lug around sometimes. It's not a guitar, but fun to play nonetheless.
