At work I connect to multiple servers. Specifically, I have a "Windows home dir" and a "UNIX home dir". The Windows one is mounted via SMB, while the UNIX one is NFS. However, the name of the share on both is my username (adavis). So after these are mounted, on my desktop I see two different "adavis" mounts. Under /Volumes I see where each points (one mounts as /Volumes/adavis; the other as /Volumes-adavis-1). Going to "get info" shows the name field is greyed out. Obviously, I can change their icons to differentiate them, but renaming how they show up would be much easier. Actually, what I would like to see is the servername in the desktop name... something like "server1:adavis" and "server2:adavis". Is this doable? Is there a way to change the name so they appear more distinct in the finder?
