It did not work for me. toast supported my burner. there was a hack for 10.2 so my burner was supported. Now in 10.3 it does not work. what's with apple and cdrws?

The developer preview of Panther let you add your own drives through and XML file, but they disabled it for release.
They think if it's hard to get your external CD-RW working you'll just go an plunk down $3K for a new G5 instead (w/ built-in superdrive).
It's either that or they're just complete asshats, so let's give them the benefit of just being dumb.

My no-name $50 CDRW drive (from CompUSA) works fine through Toast and worked through the Finder in 10.1, but has never been seen by iTunes and hasn't been seen by the Finder in 10.2.
I tried this and now, instead of iTunes telling me my burner isn't supported, it just shuts down. Could be I did something wrong, but as long as it doesn't crash any more in normal use and still works in Toast, I'm fine... I guess..
