ive recently had an issue with a cd getting stuck in my G5 imac. and now im wanting a backup dvd/cd burner. does anyone have any opinions on which is the best and actually compatible.
most of the sites ive visited dont really specify mac compatibility, and i dont really want to guess! thanks

Try that page. From what I have heard, LaCie stuff is pretty good. I know people talked good about their HDDs. You could always try to get a replacement SuperDrive for your iMac.

You can build one your self, cheaper and better.
Or just order one from owc. They have pre assembled options or you can build your own, from their selections

I burn dvd's and cd's on a weekly basis and have ordered 2 of owc dvd in-closers.
Very good, as they always use pioneers drives. Which have always been apple friendly. The in-closers are always firewire using oxford chip sets, which again are your best bet for apple compatibility. If your running tiger or leopard your pretty open as to which dvd drive you can use.
