i have had my new imac for a couple of weeks now and I am really enjoying it, however, i have been having a lot of trouble trying to update to 10.5.3. iMac restarts and begins installing but the progress part only moves a bit and then the installation hangs and i have to restart my computer. I tried to install it again last night and left my computer running all night (at least 8 hours) and the progress bar had not moved at all.
Any suggestions before i call applecare or take it to the apple store?

Have you tried an archive and install?

And it did not install?

My computer hung as you describe but when I restarted it I was on 10.5.3 so I guess it just didn't do the restart itself.
