Rebate or trade in or discount

For those of us who bought a iphone 5 months ago is there gonna be a rebate or discount if we want to upgrade? Cutting the price in half and better technology in 5 months of buying SUCKS!

Welcome to the world of technology! When ever you buy something technology related you should expect there to be a upgrade released. The first gen iPhone was over 6 months old when you bought it.

It was pretty heavily rumored that the new 3G iPhone would be released (or at least announced) this month, it's a shame if you weren't aware but like the post above says "that's technology" :-/

I really can't see O2 giving any discount to existing iPhone customers, at least we won't be paying £250+ this time...

I think the only thing that might happen is when you buy the new iPhone they take your original iPhone and credit your account with X amount over the course of your contract, much like the Buyback service Orange operate in their retail stores

Just be happy that the 2.0 firmware and the App store will be totally compatible and free for existing iphone owners. There are many new products that completely obsolete older models. Your current iphone will actually be BETTER than it is now come next month.
