I have an old computer (not capable of screen capture) which I would like to record directly. The VGA timings are slightly off, and therefore I can't plug it into a new HD-TV and record that off etc, as it needs to be an old monitor which will accept any signal. Are there any capture cards, or is there any other method I could use to record the VGA signal? Or am I left with horrible low quality camera recording?

Thanks.

How old is old? How do you want to record the video? One way is a using a VCR with a VGA to RCA cable. Example: http://www.cablesnmor.com/vga-rca-cable.html Or are your trying to digital capture one computer with another?

What is the end goal of recording the screen? Creating a slid show or trying to demo something?

I thought that the VGA->RCA cables needed the video card to support it.. and mine definately WON'T. It's from around '93, and it doesn't even run Windows. I'd like to record it digitally with my iBook. (I've modded the computer so now it acts as a video synthesiser)
