Is Handbrake equally capable at ripping non-US region formatted DVDs? I'm looking to buy a copy of a Region 2 import to put on my 'Touch. (It's not available domestic.) Thanks.

If you run the DVD through AnyDVD first then handbrake will handle it.

AnyDVD strips off all the security and regional codes leaving a pure video.

In case you're not aware, AnyDVD is a Windows product and is not free. You may be able to rip a region 2 disc directly with HandBrake or MTR depending on your drive, or you may need to go the AnyDVD route. The other option is to set your drive to R2, rip, then change back to R1 but that will use up two of your five changes.

yes, im stuck with an american mac so renting movies does not work with dvd player but with handbrake or vlc, i can view it. it is annoying as finding american movies is as easy as finding grass on the plain anywhere but finding international movies in canada or states is like a needle in a haystack
