Lost all events in iPhoto- Now what?

I unexplicably lost all the events in iphoto. Now some 3k photos are all under one event called new photos. The photos are still there but the events are gone. Any ideas on how to restore it? Also, any ideas about how this happened? thanks.

Exact same problem here. Unfortunatly I don't run time machine and haven't made a backup yet. Do I have to go through 4K Photos to organize them into events?; if so how do I do that?

Not at the mac right now, so can't check, but there is a function, maybe under Edit? that will auto split your one "roll" into events. It will create an event for each date, I believe. Look around, and if you don't find it, post back, and this evening when I get home, I'll see what I can find.
