"We'd like to have one of our operating systems in every car on Earth," said Dick Brass, vice-president of Microsoft's automotive business unit. "It's a lofty goal." (editorial comment duh!)
Ridiculous statement. Hilarious name. Dick Brass hahahahaahahahaha. Ok...i know that's childish but i couldn't help myself. Anyway, wait till a dealer starts hearing the question "what os is installed on this car" instead of how many mpg or horses. Can't wait for the translucent Apple sportscar.
Sincerely,
Genitals Titanium

"It is not known if the problem was caused by the Windows operating system."
Classic....I would never run my car with MS on it....Never!

A computer's one thing, but a computer-controlled car is potentially dangerous (even moreso when running Windows instead of Unix). There's no way I would buy a Windows-powered car, unless they've been proven safe and have a flawless track record.
And I'd prefer an Apple car anyway :)

Wireless controlled brakes are a good one. Every MacDonalds will emit a signal that locks the brakes up as you pass by and the only way to get the car moving is to buy a big mac.

What keeps a hacker from hacking my cars OS???
This is scary.. This reminds me of Jason X when they said a new MS std actually had people being ripped apart because the OS malfunctioned.
I would not buy a car with MS OS in it. I however would buy one with a Unix or OS X OS in it. Honda showed a concept car in Japan this yr that was powered by OS X.

I call dibs on the "BSOD" vanity plates!
I half-expected every post to be a variation on the crash theme, or blue screen of death, blue windshield of death, etc.

I'm shocked that the Microsoft platform is in our new Volvo. This is just a little too much big brother. We have had the Volvo for almost 6 months, very faithful. The only problem has been with the key that is used with LoJack.
