If Apple does a iChat/iSight bundle for Windows they should also make a iChat client for Linux as well to use with iSight.
This way iChat/iSight will be marketed to all Mac/Window/Linux users.

<sarcasim> WOW, isight is working for Linux, now we chat with 4% of the computer population. </sarcasim>

a) iSight != iChat. Whilst you can now get a picture out of the iSight camera the Linux IM clients cannot use the iChat AV protocol.

b) Most people put Mac market share at around 5% so this more or less doubles the target market.

There was some information about GnomeMeeting working with iSight on OSnews.com, as well.

IIRC, iChatAV uses an open standard protocol for its video conferencing... Steve Jobs said others can make applications that use the same and could chat with it. I think he said this in a keynote speech either at WWDC or MWNY.

H.263 is the standard (CCITT?) for videoconferencing, which is part of QuickTime 6.3 and above that has been used for several years on other platforms.
