maybe better camera, front facing camera for video chat, more memory, maybe increased screen size (if electronics shrink to allow this). More processing power maybe.

Just some thoughts

This I don't think you'll see.

More processing power maybe.

Maybe, I think they want to hide this from the user though.

I think they will update it some time early next year with a better camera, video recording. Maybe a 32gb at $399.

i agree we shouldn't even BEGIN to speculate with these threads, but a point I wanted to touch...if I may...a bit of reality perhaps...but what is the point of even bothering with mobile video conferencing.

My argument against video conferencing is that it isn't really practical. A mobile device like the iphone is built for mobility and on the go usage.

Things like video conferencing requires you staying put...are you really going to be THAT douchebag walking down the street video conferencing in public...one would assume video conferencing should be taken in a private setting where you can hear each other(do u really wanna be talking to your phone with your headset on? I don't get the real world practical on the go use for video conferencing. Even if the iPhone had the ability I wouldn't even use it which leads me to believe that apple left it out for a real good reason. If i wanted to video chat i have my desktop and laptop for that, and hell I don't even have the need to do that. If it was a business thing well then you have systems at work already set up for that...

I honestly think Apple are genuinely insane if they don't fix the camera soon, with a flash too.

Now they can have a wireless flash, or one on a dock connector.

Apple is a company who loves routine. Look at the Annual Macbook updates in October and the Annual iPod refreshes in September. It would be a very educated guess to assume a new iPhone is coming in June/July due to the fact that the previous two have been released around that time. Most Likely at WWDC.

Multi-Core processor (Likely)
upgraded RAM (Likely)
32GB hard drive, possibly 64GB (Highly Likely)
802.11n Wireless (Almost Definite)
AT&T 3G service upgrade to 7.2Mbps instead of the current 3.6Mbps (Highly Likely)
upgraded camera to 3.0 or 4.0 megapixels (possibly)
