Can I make a custom 404 page for my .Mac web service?

I'm not certain if this will work, but if .Mac allows you to use .htaccess files you can use the line
Code: 
ErrorDocument 404 /error404.html
and place the .htaccess file in the root directory of your site. This works for me, but I'm not on .Mac.
