Nice article. Sounds like the graphics department folks are practically drooling over the G5. Also good to see OS X (Panther no less) promoted in the context of the creative market — OS 9 has reigned in that camp far too long.

Amusing, light article but just sounds so terribly biased. But then again who can blame them? :p

Some figures would be much better than the whole 'feels/seems so much faster than' style.

How can people get so mad over this stuff? It may not be the "fastest", but it is fast. That is all that matters. If you are a gamer don't buy a G5. If you work in Photoshop or video editing, buy one. Wether you get an Athlon FX or a G5 it doesn't matter. They both will do the job very quickly.

Actually, there's no difinitive evidence suggesting that it is not the fastest.

Its only real competition is the AMD 64. My friend just got one of these. We matched it against my new dual processor G5 in benchmarks... Dollar for dollar, my machine was nearly twice as fast (but then again... I had two processors in my machine)

Processor for processor... they were about equal.
