Just wondering what anyone thought about this. I will be out of state at a remote lake in Michigan on launch day, so no getting one that day. I have heard that last year the iPhone was readily available again shortly after launch day. But this time they are launching in 22 countries simultaneously. Do you think the supply will therefore be spread more thinly and harder to come by for a while?

I really dont foresee shortage with the 3G iPhone. I think they will produce enough to accommodate the demands of 22 countries.

Does anybody who lives in China know how many new sweatshops have opened the past few months with regular shipments to Apple? That could possibly tell us how many they're able to make. :)

I hope there aren't shortages. I want one on July 11th, and don't want to queue. Do you think iPhones ordered online will be dispatched before 11th? So they arrive on launch day?
