New Mail Icon Hack

When I receive email I have rules setup to divide it among 20 or so folders in Mail.app. Is there a way to make the little red number icon still pop up in the dock?

I assume there isn't a conventional way, but can I use resorcerer or HexEdit to make it work?

I know its odd.. but I imagine someone here knows.
