...a small line at the end of the second paragraph indicates that it's possible to make free wi-fi calls if you're near a hotspot. Does this mean I could potentially get a lower voice plan(to compensate for the higher data plan) and potentially save money on my cell phone bill by getting an iPhone?

Thanks for the input. I just want to make sure I'm understanding correctly.
