I honestly can't say for sure, as I am not sure...I bought a new drive for my MacBook last month from OWC and I went with one of their 300+ GB models rather than the 500 GB one because they said it only fit in certain MacBook Pros and not in the MacBook....I know that does not answer your question, but I would be careful based on the limited experience I have...:)

It must have SATA interface and be 9.5mm thick maximum. From the description it should be fine for Macbooks too!

It "appears" it would fit. However, since you're thinking of purchasing it from someone on eBay I highly recommend making sure it will work before completing the sale. In my experience with eBay purchases, it can sometimes be very difficult to return an item and may wind up costing more because of having to pay to ship it back.
