What i don't understand is why Steve-o doesn't sweat buckets of sweaty sweat and chant "developers" on stage. That seems to sell a lot of stuff.

Good read - I agree with the general points, that MobileMe really is going to take off and become an ideal solution for small/medium businesses. MobileMe, iPhone and a Mac.

Can't get any better.

absolutely. i constantly try and hack together various online apps and software to fulfill the same task, but the headaches, hacks and licensing trying to get it all to work, and nowhere near as elegantly or seamlessly as mobileme appears to be... it's just not worth it. i've easily spent 10-20 times the mobile me subscription just researching various options in the last 18 months alone.

.mac had never interested me in the slightest, mobileme is very intriguing... now if i can move all my mail accounts over to their service - i'm sold.

maybe it's because it's the middle of the night, but I thought you were being sarcastic at first.

MobileMe is still not compelling for me.

I need my OWN company's email, with its own server... even though I'm just one person. A me.com email address won't do it for me.

With the functionality of MobileMe at a cheap price? Good luck.

MobileMe hasn't been released yet, so as far as I'm concerned it still has to prove that it is any better than .Mac. The biggest problem with .Mac is not features, but performance. iDisk is slow. Sync never works properly and puts your data at risk. Etc. For MobilMe to become successful Apple would have to perform major architectural changes. I would be delighted to see that happen, but don't put too much hope in it.

Why does this guy assume he knows everything about running a multi-national corporation? If he's so smart, why doesn't he do it?

But apart from that, he does seem to have confidence in the future of MobileMe and what it'll do for :apple:. the reason i'm not buying it is because it is rather expensive...but maybe that cost will be worth it when i...umm...graduate:p

Is it too much to hope that Apple will bundle a MobileMe Application Server with OS X Server?

Yeh well. As i stated several time a from-line customization would be great on the webmail side as well as on the iPhone mail client.

I believe i can sort of trick that by changing my display name and replacing it with my personal email address
