Which one would be better? Going to iPlaza or an ATT store.

I'm thinking att store is our best bet for actually getting one.

I'm torn between being involved in the apple store action and possibly not getting one, or just walking into any one of the 50 att stores in the tampa bay area and most likely getting one with no line.

Why not try Brandon Town Centre

Apple retail will get the most number of iphones launch day. ATT might have a limited number 20-40.. (based off first iphone launch).

..you can always get your phone from ATT and go over to apple for the party ;)

I'll be at the Brandon Town Centre...likely a smaller crowd than International. There are also 3 AT&T stores surrounding the Mall and thinking about hitting one of those instead...not sure yet.

I think I'll join you in Brandon. I work right there on MLK and 75. What time you heading over?? I've got work but I was thinking I can sneak out at like 4.

I was thinking of arriving between 3:30 and 4:30 PM...although an Apple Rep told me to get there by 3:00 PM...The AT&T Store on Brandon Blvd (aka SR 60) said they had 90 iPhones last year...but I'm sure they'll have more than that at the Apple Store.

Last year I went to the International Store after flying into Tampa (on the date of launch)..around 6:30 PM...didn't have to wait in lines and had one in my hands within 5 minutes.

Wow not bad - well sounds good, I'll be over at the Brandon Apple store at around 4. And we've got the at&t store as backup ;)

Is there a set time that the phone is to go on sale? Just curious why you're looking at being there at 3PM or 4PM.

ttkb,

Apple and ATT stores will close for an hour or two and open at 6 PM.

So, iPhones will go on sale at 6 PM, according to people I've spoken with both at the ATT and Apple stores.

No one here knows when the new iPhone will go on sale. The info you have is just what happened last year. Who knows if it will be the same...

I will probably go to Brandon to get mine...

I'm starting to realize that based on rumblings across mac news sites...but less than 2 weeks ago I was told 6:00 PM by both AT&T and Apple associates, who were apparently misinformed or they simply made it up. The AT&T representative even went on to tell me that their store had 90 iPhones, and all were sold by the end of the evening.

Don't shoot the messenger!

My predicament is whether to show up several hours early, or one hour late...last year I walked into the International store around 6:45 PM (45 minutes after the launch) and picked up an iPhone without any waiting...and there were plenty of iPhones (hundreds) stacked on carts. I can't determine if the demand will be like it was last year OR if it will be greater this time around due to the price...

Freakin' crystal ball is broken. :D

I plan to go to the Apple Store at international Plaza on Friday - wonder if there will be a line? E-mail me with any information or what you plan to do: david@applefanboy727.com

Anyone going to the 3Gs launch?

I talked to someone at the store. They open at 7 and there will be two lines, one for reserved and one for walkups. Park in lot E and enter next to Dillards. I received a confirmation email but it still says that it's all first-come, first-served. I have no idea what time I should arrive.

Someone at the Brandon store said they were there at 5am last year, and there was already a line. So, I don't know either.

For the 3G? No way. I was in Tampa and I can tell you the lines were out the door all day long until close.

As for going to an AT&T store, I tried that in Tampa and failed miserably... I went to the biggest stores and most of them (dale mabry, Hillsborough, etc) said they were out within the first hour.. and that they didn't get that many and didn't have even close to enough for the people in line on launch morning.

IMO anyone looking to get one on launch day would be better off scoping out a best buy (again limited #'s) but you will definately get one from the apple store.. you will just have to wait a while!!

:apple: I went to the Apple Store the Past 2 years for the iPhone, this year I'm going to a AT&T store to get my parent's upgrade. I preordered at a Tampa AT&T Store, what time should I get there. I love being the first few people.
