Current Apple Store Locations:

Fashion Show Mall - Last time they let no one step foot on the premises until roughly 7 a.m. This might be the same situation, so be prepared.

Same situation as last year, first ten people will wait next to the Apple store, while others will be directed into a section in the middle of the mall, near the fashion show stage.

Town Square Center - Spoke to a Apple Rep on the phone recently, said the center never closes and will be able to wait outside, A line might be formed around the center to avoid congestion on the street and sidewalk
If extreme heat is present at the town square location, fan misters and water will be provided most likely.

AT&T Store Locations:

( I will be at the Town Square location probably 20 hours in advance, and will be twittering and blogging constantly.)

Where are you guys going?

I was at Fashion Show last year and will probably be again this year. I don't know about waiting 20 hours in line, but the benefits to FS is that since its inside, you can show up around 9 or 10 and probably still get a good spot in line. I definitely cant stand to sit outside in the hot weather.

The issue about having to activate the phones at the time of purchase will suck, and I think lead to more people in line earlier. I figure it'll take three times as long to move people through line. Last year I showed up around 10:45 and got my phone at 6:45. This year it would take 2 hours or so to get the phone given the same position in line. Of course, if Apple lets purchasers who use their CC to activate at home, it'll work better, but for now, I'm planing on having to wait in line much later than 6P to get the phone.

Dare to say I'm even tempted to go and buy it on Sunday instead of Friday.

I was at the front in the Fashion Show last year for the iPhone, and I loved it, I had a great time with my buddies and stuff. The only thing that killed me, was that I was sooo damn cramped. and all we could do is either stand up or sit on the floor, no chairs which was a major buzz kill.

I showed up at 3 in the morning, was the first one there, and couldn't even be placed on a list, all i was told was to leave the premises until the mall opened...so BS!

I showed up to the Fashion Show at around 10:30 last year not even wanting to get the iPhone but my mom saw the line and was like lets wait just for the hell of it and we were like number 90-ish in line and it wasnt bad at all, a few friends showed up and we all hung out in the nice ac. Im probably going to show up earlier this year and get an even better spot:D

Yea the no chairs rule blew hard. I even had a camping chair in the back of my car that I had brought in case they changed the rule, but no dice. Though I can understand why, there isn't a whole lot of room at the FSM to take the line - when I was there for the Leopard launch I was in that hallway and it winded around. Eventually the line will have to go outside at some point. They cant keep it winding around the mall or it will just get in the way.

My biggest thing is getting there early enough so that I get a spot in line in front of the Apple store so I can bring my MacBook and use their free WiFi. Though at least this time I'll have the iPhone to keep me company too. And it wont be long before I'm sick of the hourly fashion shows ;).

I had brought a folded up beach blanket to sit on which was better than the hard floor. This year I'll bring some inflatable cushion or something.

Also, which version are you going to get? I'm in for the 16GB Black one.

LVdustin
Jun 15, 2008, 01:26 AM
I will be at the Town Square this time around, i wanna try for a different experience. If you wanna go, i'll get you a spot in front with no questions asked.

I was thinking in the beignning of going for the 16gb white...but the white looks kind of girlish now...

I didn't even know they were going to open one in the forum shops. Are they going to close the FSM one? According to http://www.ifoapplestore.com/, the Forum Shops one will open sometime in 2009.

Though I wonder if they're going to close the Fashion Show Mall location. It would seem odd to have two Apple stores 3/4 of a mile apart from each other, is it really necessary? Plus, as a local, getting in and out of Fashion Show is ok (if you take Sahara to Industrial and go down that to the mall), but getting in and out of Caesars is horrible. I haven't been there in years.

ifoapplestore store also notes that there could be an additional Apple store in CityCenter. That would be three Apple stores within a mile and a half, and four locations in four miles.

These areas get tremendous foot traffic and would definitely appeal to Apple since they have a high "gravitational field" - e.g. you walk by and want to walk inside. But it seems like a very high concentration to have that many Apple stores in such close proximity. Of course you also have something like 65,000 hotels rooms in three miles so its a very unique situation too.

I was hoping the next site would be off the strip, probably in the Summerlin shopping plaza south of the Red Rock Hotel/Casino.

Actually...Las Vegas is about to be the number 1 city to have the most Apple Stores...

1. Fashion Show

2. Town Square

3. Forum Shops

4. City Center

5. Summerlin Centre.

SirOmega
Jun 15, 2008, 02:20 AM
Whats the time frame for the summerlin store? 2010? Could Apple build more stores in NYC or LA in that time frame?

Las Vegas can support that many stores though, recent studies show that LV is pretty tech savvy - even bettering Silicon Valley and Austin, TX. Plus the visitor volume, its looking good. Sadly, with expensive gas and poor economy, visitor volumes are on the way down.

LVdustin
Jun 15, 2008, 01:08 PM
I believe everything should be completed by 2010

Summerlin Centre is projected to be completed or at least opened by mid 09'

Forum, i believe the concept is already be designed and are entering construction within the next 3 months, so probably by x-mas of 08

City Center - end of 09'

To beat the wait, wouldn't it be better to just go to an ATT store??

SirOmega
Jun 17, 2008, 12:42 AM
Not really - IIRC, last year the Apple stores had a disproportionally larger amount of phones to sell than AT&T stores, even factoring the # stores. And Apple stores were also restocked quicker. And there were still lines of 100+ people at AT&T stores.

The allocations could be different this year since AT&T is subsidizing them instead of paying full price, we'll see... we still have three and a half weeks to go, so there is plenty of time for announcements and info to come out.

I'm not sure where to go for this launch. I was in the middle section at the FSM for the Leopard launch and it was a lot of fun. I like Town Square a lot better than the FSM but I don't know how long I can stand the sun mid July. At the same time, since the Town Square line will be waiting outside I don't see why I can't bring a chair this time. I may just deal with the heat so I can sit down and be able to use my laptop tethered to my blackjack. I'll share out my 3G connection over internet connection sharing with anyone willing to bring a power generator, HA.

Because Apple fanboys :apple::cool: like to go to the roots to get their products, not some third party vendor store. Plus its so much exciting to go to the apple store, you get all the employees clapping, news cameras and press all around you and etc.

It's just a more welcoming experience.

Meh, when I was at FSM I just told the guy next to me I had to go take a leak and they were cool about it, I just left my water bottle and towel that I sat on and took my backpack (since it had my laptop). Everyone was pretty cool, except for the end where some guy who we hadn't seen all day strolled up to the line and said that his friend had saved his spot all day. A few people got pissed since he showed up at 545 and basically took up another place in line and didn't have to wait.

If I were going to be in Vegas that Friday (which I'm not; family reunion), here's what I would do.

Fact: Apple Stores are going to be packed.
Fact: Las Vegas Blvd will be packed (when isn't it?).
Fact: Casinos will be packed (See Las Vegas Blvd.).

Conclusion: Fashion Show Mall, Caesar's Palace will be packed.

Fact: Town Center will be packed (everybody local will be heading there!).

So the fastest way for me to get an iPhone there, would be to head to my closest ATT store (Both Rampart and Lake Mead will be feeding off of those going to Town Center, so my next closest is on Craig or Ann in Centennial Hills). Buy one there, get the phone set up... THEN head to the Apple store. Looking for accessories are going to be a lot easier with the phone in hand, than those waiting to grab the phone!

However... Parking is going to be a fair ***** at the Apple Stores, so perhaps going to Fashion Show or Caesar's Palace would be easier to get to (Park at Treasure Island, take the tram to the Mirage, walk out, step over, you're in Forum Shoppes/Walk the bridge, you're at Fashion Show).

Depends on which side of town you're on. 6 in one hand/half dozen in the other..

Bring a nice fold up chair if you can, if they let you have one while waiting, it is very convienant. Also bring lots of liquids, and not just for you, but for the surrounding people. You are going to be developing a nice friendship with your neighbors while waiting, so it's good to offer drinks, or bring a little spending money for food and drinks.

most important, have fun, you'll get your iPhone just like everyone else, so don't be jealous if you aren't the first one in line, Apple has suprises for everyone, if it's t-shirts or gift cards or anything, so enjoy the time.

Conclusion: Fashion Show Mall, Caesar's Palace will be packed.

Last I heard, the Caesars Apple store wasn't open yet. And it wasn't all that crowded last year if you got there before noon. Thats when the line got long...

Besides, while the Apple stores are more crowded than the AT&T stores, they also have way more capacity than the comparable AT&T store. Last year they had something like 20 people doing checkouts at FSM, plus runners who would go get more phones when they ran out of the nearby box. It was very efficient. Most AT&T stores only have 4-5 workstations they can use for checkout.

This year may be different if they have to activate the phone in store, but if the 8AM rumors are true (BGR, meh), I'll just follow the tweets from the folks who are there in line and wait for it to become manageable (either 10A or 2PM).

The Apple Store in the Forum shops doesn't open till early August, so I don't know where the speculation of the Caesars Location being packed came from. haha if 8 a.m. is true, then it won't be nearly as crowded, smany people don't feel like waking up early to get stuff. This is off topic, but remember all the mothers trying to buy our spots in early morning for the PS3 and Xbox 360? it's because they don't realize a line will be so huge.

SirOmega

This is off topic, but remember all the mothers trying to buy our spots in early morning for the PS3 and Xbox 360?

The fundamental difference though is that Apple should have enough iPhones to go around, and we wont see Wii/360/PS3 shortages. Unlike the game consoles, there isn't some custom, hard to produce chip or other limiting production factor. If Apple started production on phones in early June, they'll easily have 1M units worldwide at launch and another 1-2M by the end of July. The hardest thing will be loading the 2.0 firmware on if it isn't final yet (which I don't buy, I think a usable firmware was done mid-June and there will be a 2.0.1 update ASAP after the phone launches, possibly enabling the AppStore).

(and yes, 1M WW is enough for launch - NA gets 500k, EU gets 400k, Asia/Aus. gets 100k - last year opening weekend sold about 250k phones in the US)

Also, its good to hear the Forum one is opening so soon. I'll have to go check it out after it opens...

I went to an AT&T Store last year. The big difference is how they treat the customers. At Apple, everyone is excited and in it for the fun. At AT&T, they treat you like a nusiance, "do as I say...."

What really got me though is they ran out after about 20 people last time. But rather than letting everyone know so they could go find one that night, they kept on letting people in one by one and insisting on taking pre-orders. I kept on asking the workers outside and the answer was always, "I'll try to find out." By the time my buddy got in 5 in front of me, he came out and told everyone what was happening and the line disappeared.

This time, I'll wait at the Apple Store. Even though the lines will be longer, the experience is just more fun.

What time was it that they came out and said that they didn't have any more phones? I actually worry about the same thing this year - but not because they ran out of phones but simply because they wont be able to activate all the phones before closing time (assuming they're open from 6p-midnight).

I think the apple guys played mind games with us last year - the guy came out to my section and said that they should have enough phones to get through our point in line (between the escalators, maybe about 150) but he wasnt sure. Then he went to the next section and probably told them the same thing.

Yeah, July 6th is the day where all the apple stores receive the preperation materials and memo's regarding the launch, my best friends work down at the Town Square location as well... It's noted by the AT&T stores that they will be open at 8, but i wouldn't understand why Apple would sell them later than everywhere else. So we will see, aside from the different types of subsidized prices and etc, this seems to be more in the hands of AT&T regarding pricing now, and Apple is just there to provide the product and technological pleasure of the service.

Of course, I'm kinda considering not getting the phone and waiting until the 32GB version next spring when the next capacity flash chips are released (128Gb chips). I don't want to have to spend $700 on a 32GB iPhone next spring. It all depends on what the rules are for iPhone upgrades...

lol, first off, trust me, Employees will be everywhere man, if that sucker goes on sale at 8 a.m. then every single Apple employee must be there probably 3 hours before to get everything set up, displays, props, the works, especially if they will be doing in store activation. Also another reason to just wait, it's not just being a fanboy. it's kind of the get together of everyone who enjoys the same thing. Have you ever waited in a line for a midnight premiere showing of a popular movie? Or waited for a video game console? It's just the unity of being with your friends and the crowd of everyone just being psyched and having a good time.

Other than that, the Apple stores put on a really good show, which is nice too.

It's completely understandable though if you just wanna get the phone and go on with your business, nothing wrong with that at all. I mean, everyone has a life, and has business going on all the time, so its cool that many people including you just dont feel like waiting and just wanna pick it up and go on with their day. At least its the thought that counts ya know, that you are getting a great product.

You call a Apple store and they have some information, but nothing really more than what AT&T had days before. I don't know, maybe its just me....but does anyone else feel like AT&T is really calling the plays more than Apple?

Oh totally, AT&T is totally taking control of the situation. Apple is in a whole different ballpark this time around, they needed this to grab more users. That's how the business works but sooner or later at&t will steady and Apple will have more direct control. at&t's control is the 3G plans and subsidized price, other than that, it's all Apple. But since this is the beginning of the this type of phone, there has to be come regulation and control coming from the cell companies beforehand. It's the same for every market and country that is dealing with this phone. They'll make more money this way.

Thought that it would be a good idea if we list our Twitter user names so that we could get some Vegas "morning of" info from around the city.

Mine is MMMII and I'm pretty sure I'll end up at the Mountains Edge AT&T store but if reports are looking good at an Apple Store I rather go there.

Don't forget to tell the cashier to thank Uncle Steve when you buy your new iPhone.

I don't think they would take too kindly with chairs. It's a small walkway.

I was planning on driving down from st. george friday morning at like 5am, arriving at FSM at 6am Vegas time. That sounds like it won't be early enough.

Sounds like it might be better for me to wait a few days. I can't really stay and wait overnight like the locals can.

I am planning on arriving in Vegas on Thursday. Will be staying on the strip close to the fashion square mall. Where would be the best place to go to get a phone?
The apple store? If so what time should I arrive?
My wife and I are new to the MAC platform. WE LOVE IT. Thanks for all of your help.
Has anyone confirmed the opening time for the apple store?

Attention Attention Attention Attention Attention Attention Attention

I have just been informed that the Town Square location will not let anyone on the premises until 5:00 a.m. on Friday Morning.

As of right now, I am currently in the process of speaking to the management of the Town Square location regarding security and if we are allowed to park in front of the Apple store and pay the meter for an alternative to us waiting before 5:00 a.m. anybody found parked on the premises or waiting will be escorted off by security.

I'll keep you guys informed.

Don't people live out there? IIRC, there are some condo units built into TS. I don't know where on the premises (ie near the Apple store). Find someone who lives there and spend the night on the couch!

Though that might be the actual reason - if people in line are loud, it could disturb the tenants (though they should be annoyed with the constant planes taking off and landing from LAS overhead).

Security is going to have their hands full shooing everyone away all night. People are going to be showing up all night and then at 5AM a huge rush as the line builds.

there will be 4 Metro police units dispatched that night and during the day to take care of that situation. And no, there is no residents in that shopping center, although it is owned by Turnberry associates, which build and manage residences, there is currently no residences on the premises of Town Square

Apple will open long before any of the other stores and the line should be gone by the time they open .....They can escort me away but I will just go to the edge of the property (whats considered public and park my arse there till 4:50 am or so ...)

FSM would be the tourist trap for everyone non-local, so it would be packed regardless. Town Square is further down Las Vegas Blvd, going towards the old Belz Factory Outlet Mall and Fry's. Best way to get there would be just to go down I-15, exit on Russell, cross over the bridge, and turn right on Las Vegas Blvd. You should be able to see it from there.

As Soon as people get in line - can you please let us know how things look (and provide updates).

SirOmega - you have said Town Center + Twitter, but where is your twitter?

I for one would really appreciate knowing if there is a line forming at Fashion Show, or Town Center. If for some reason cops start allowing us to line up, I would hustle down. Please post so that all on MacRumors can hop in a car, and rush down to be around the first 100 where possible. I'll be trying to get some sleep knowing that they won't allow people until 5:00 or so at either of the malls.

I guess the only other alternative is to spend the night at an AT&T stores (Which I've heard will have approx. 100 units each), but the problem there is that it's not apple, and the quantity isn't going to be as high.

!!! Please Post !!!

I didn't post my twitter coz I'm not going!

I decided that the phone just isn't worth it - the 2.0 software is pretty nice (even if none of the apps seem to work yet - I cant get logged on with AIM, Twitter or Loopt).

I think I'm going to wait for the 2009 models. A 65nm or 45nm 3G comm chip (which means way better battery life) and 32GB of flash and are what I'm waiting for.

I've gone through the various scenarios. Since the phone is subsidized, I wonder about what price I'd be able to sell the phone for when I upgraded compounded with the fact that I'd have to pay the "early upgrade" price (which is +200 more than the subsidized price).

Plus I'm pissed at Apple. I spent 3 months writing an iPhone Texas Hold'em game, and Apple, Inc. themselves put out one this morning. So I'm pretty steamed at Apple. I don't have my dev cert and all the work I have done so far is basically for nothing.

Sorry to hear.... I'd pay for yours - screw apple.... I pre-sold my original to a person for $100, so I'm only out $200 for the 3G, and I'd kill to be able to stream music and receive calls.... Sorry to hear you won't be camping

Yea, well I might end up giving it away for free and hope that I can sell ad revenue for the logos on the table and on the back of the cards. We'll see though, that's more difficult in terms of recruiting advertisers, keeping track of program usage, auditing, setting ad rates, etc.

I do have a couple people that I could sell my phone to - but my real worry is how much would I be able to sell the current-gen 3G phone for next summer. If I have to pay $599 for an early upgrade 32GB 2009-model iPhone, and I can only sell the 3G phone for $100, $500/yr is a lot of money to stay current with the iPhone.

I may change my mind though, if in a few weeks everyone is raving and I end up picking up a few more side projects and make some extra cash I could go for it....

people were able to wait the day of last year because it was a friday afternoon. i think fewer people are willing to wait over night for an 8am launch.

im going to gauge lines as they form on the east coast. if long lines begin to form for east coast launches, then i will assume the same will happen here, just 3 hours later, and will head down to town square based on that estimate. if lines are not too outrageous, i will just wait till 6-7am.

When I was in line for the PS3, I saw a couple shootings (.22 cal + BB's), water balloons, eggs, etc. But those lines were like 3 days long... so we're already about 48 hours ahead of those types of lines.... People get antsi around 2:00-3:00 in the morning if they haven't slept much... Coming in the morning shouldn't be too scary. I'd say the line will be about 10% LDS anyway (I'll be part of that 10%).

You should be able to, as they are in the same market region. If you went into another region altogether, like New Mexico/Colorado/Texas, if they don't have the Gears program at the ATT store, they not be able to add any discounts (FAN, IRU, etc.) to your account.

if they open the gates to the underground parking, take the rear entrance off fashion show dr. and park in the green area next to the doors. this will put you right behind the magic rising cube close to the store.

Thats kinda crappy that security says 5am and then lets people line up early. Oh well, I guess thats what you get when dealing with rent-a-cops.

I agree. Last year it was a wonderful process for nearly everyone to do it at home. (There were a few people where it too a little longer to port a number, but not bad.)

Of course, I wouldn't mind going and getting an unactivated iPhone 3G if it didn't take down my current iPhone in the mean time.

PS: Can anyone give an update on the Town Square mall? I'm thinking of heading that way if it's bearable.

I have no Idea how busy it is down there, but if I had to guess, I would say Head down there. Instead of it being 10 minutes per customer... they only take like 5, cause they just ring you up, and tell you to go activate at home. So if you still want to head down to an Apple Store, I'll bet lines are really moving quickly.... But that's it though, the 3G iPhones certainly aren't going anywhere. They are bricked....

Did the wait after all anyway. Wait wasn't bad at local AT&T at Buffalo and Lake Mead. Got there at like 4:30am. One thing that annoyed me was AT&T itself. I went there a couple days ago like they had asked and had my info put in the system and they ran a credit check. All was good I was told, no deposit needed just come in and get the phone. Well when I got there this morning, dudeguy pulled up the info and said I had a $300 deposit needed:eek:. Now its not really the question of the money, I can cover it, but I just had this total feeling like I was getting jacked for $300. The guy was said I would get it back in 12 months as long as the bill is paid on time for a year. All in all I paid it, but not before I let them know how I felt about shady **** like this:mad:.

I did get the 16 in black. Anybody end up getting the white one?

Oh all that this morning and I am now forced to wait till they fix whatever and get the servers back up to sync the phone. Not turning into a pleasant :apple: experience.

Finally at 11:30AM after 6 hours of waiting and servicing only 40 people, they announce that they are all sold out of 16GB iphones and only have 8GB ones left. Everyone is now pissed and wants to know just how many phones are left and the guy says Apple's policy forbids them to tell how many are left in stock and we would all just have to finish waiting in line until they sell out.

I was 62nd in line at The Apple Store Town Square and I thought I was in good shape but the line was SOOOOOO SLOW! I didn't get my phone till about 10:30 but thankfully, I was one of 4 people that got their phone working and I don't even know how. First iTunes timed out like it was doing for everyone and then, out of nowhere, I got a text from someone and everything was working, internet and phone even though it NEVER synched with iTunes. Don't really know why I was so lucky but the cool thing is, once I set up my e-mail on the phone, all my contacts and bookmarks were Pushed right away. iTunes is finally working now, I synched the rest of my stuff to my sexy new White phone. I blame AT&T for coming up with this stupid mess but Apple should have foreseen the iTunes glitch from too many activations in advance.:apple:

i can confirm this to be the case. the manager, a rather round individual in a green shirt, never really gave anyone any sort of indication of quantities or if they were wasting their time. i was number 33 and was able to get a black 16gb (has yet to activate it) the line was long, longer than i had expected. wrapped around the covered seating area and out into the parking lot. the process was painful. eventually they started to just let us go, i was in and out within 5 minutes. why it was taking 20+ per person i donno. i am guessing non ATT customers that want to port their number took the longest. this whole system was a joke. you would think they would know what was going to happen. it happened last year, just over itunes at home rather than in the store. i think us on the west coast were hit the worst as we are still dealing with everyone to the east and then our own population. the problem just compounded.

Here's my day:

-wake up at 5am (4am LV time), drive two hours to a ATT store from St. George.
miss the 215 exit which put me behind getting me there at 7:15am.

-60 people in front of me and when their is just 10 in front of me (4hrs later)they run out of phones!!!!

ATT rep tells me that they can order me one to come in 7-10 B days (meaning another trip to LV)
Rep butchers order and takes (NO JOKE) two hours to get it right!

-4pm I arrive back to St. George with no iphone.

What did I learn? I'm still working on that one. maybe I'll figure it out on my trip back to vegas to get the phone spending another $70 on gas.

Both Las Vegas stores have all iPhones in stock for tomorrow. I'm sure there will be lines for the first half of the day at least because a lot of people had to work today.

Also, nearly all AT&T stores are sold out so everyone heads to the two Apple stores tomorrow.

I showed up to Town Square yesterday around 4:30 PM. The line stretched to the right side of Banana Republic (just before the corner). The people who were leaving the store when I got there said they had been there since 8 AM. I'm sure the line was much longer at that time. One of the Apple Store employees was out talking to people in line who had questions and informed me that it would take about an hour and a half from where I was in line. That wasn't the case as I walked out of the Apple Store at 9:00 PM. As far as purchasing went, the process was extremely slow, and after I paid for it he took me over to the ONE employee who was doing activations. There were 4 others in front of me so the guy who sold me the phone told me I could just take it home to activate which I did. Leaving the store the line was longer than it was when I first got there so I assume maybe only half of those people got in last night at the pace the line was moving.

Wow, thats pretty un-Apple like. Though it might have been required. 20-25 Macs per Apple store x 200 or so Apple stores PLUS 1500 or so AT&T stores x 10 PC activation stations vs just one activation Mac for Apple and 1 PC at the AT&T store would definitely ease the load of the activation servers.

They should have just let people activate at home. Required them to sign up for new service and provide that info, pay with a credit card, and then take the phone home to choose rate plans, activate, etc.

Do you think the apple stores will still have stock tomorrow (Sunday) and Monday? As opposed to the AT&T stores that are sold out do the apple stores get new shipments daily?

I want to get one tomorrow- not many options of timing, so a) Town Square at ~11:25, b) Fashion Show at ~11:15, or c) try the AT&T Stores?

The iPhone availabilty page says TS and FSM both have all 3 models left.

2:30 - Town Square. Line to Banana Republic. Guy in front of line said he was waiting for 2+ hours. They are OUT of 16gb black.

This is to the point of ********* stupid.

Unbelievable.....

I wonder if the Apple stores will have stock throughout the week or if they are almost out after this weekend? I would assume they would get replenished before AT&T stores.

They said they'd be receiving stock daily. Just check the apple availability webpage. From what I remember last year, AT&T stores lagged in getting new shipments.

I probably wont try to get a phone until the 25th or 26th. Two weeks should be enough for the line to calm down and whoever is running the servers to get more hardware thrown at the problem so they can have more than 1 activation station in the stores.

I'll likely go get one today as I hope the lines would be decent. (Though it's hard to tell when you live in a place with so many tourists and so many people that don't work 9-5.)

On a side note, it's impressive to see so much activity in the Las Vegas thread. I didn't know there were so many Mac users here.

Since you're already out in the area, try the ones on Rampart or Ann. You may have some luck there...

Ann is a nogo... Rampart won't pick up the phone (called 5-6 times, only rang one time).

Finally got through, Rampart's out, too.

Well, Decatur's store isn't in a fantastic part of town... less likely to be sold out there. I'll be calling every store every day... I can update you guys, if you'd like.

I got the iphone at Town Square this morning. Showed up at 8:30 AM, opened at 9:00AM. I was the fourth person in line. Seemed to have a decent stock of phones except for 16gb in white (told they were low).

Left at around 9:30, line wasn't too bad.

How was the line behind you at TS? I probably won't be able to show up until 10ish...

1:53PM - Just called Town Square. Wait is 'down!' to 3 hours.

Maybe my Blackberry doesn't need to be replaced so badly.

I was just at the Fashion Show to pick up some servers. Easily 100 people in line there as well.

Called TS earlier, 3-4 hour wait + no 16GB. AT&T on W Lake Mead had a DHL truck in front of it and they already've received a shipment today... he says no iPhones (I called when I got home), but I've read that they can only sell iPhones the day after they get their shipment. Any thoughts?

Interesting.. I wonder if that applies to every ATT store. If so, we have a pattern to use to bombard ATT stores when they open.

Anyone else heard anything like this?

"...All AT&T stores will be getting a third shipment of iPhone 3Gs tomorrow, but thereís a catch. They canít sell Fridayís shipment until Saturday. And guess what? Went to FS today at 11am and in comparison to how the line was Fri and Sat, it didn't look too bad so I jumped in. Got into the store at about 2:30pm. I asked and they said they still had a lot of inventory of all phone models available.

Best bet would be to get there during a week day as close to open a possible. The line wouldn't be too long around 9:30am according to some there.

Nope, line out of the mall. Don't go!

Actually, though, I hear it's only a 50-person line and they have plenty of stock. I'll be heading there tonight.

It's amazing there are still lines 5 days later.

I read that they are out of the 16GB black at FS.

Do you know what time they open this morning?

When I was at the Apple Store there was no 3G, but as soon as I left the mall I had all 5 bars. At the moment I'm home and I have zero bars. So I guess it all depends on where you are in Vegas. On AT&T's website Las Vegas is listed as one of the cities with 3G coverage.

I live up in Summerlin, very close to the W Lake Mead AT&T. Also, I hear that, like, two bars 3G = 5 bars EDGE, is this true? How is the call clarity and such?

How was the lines today? I want to try and get one tomorrow, but IDK ... I won't be able to get out until like 5PM/6PM. Would it be a waste of time? Stopping by my AT&T store and/or the Apple Store in the TS?

AT&T's backordered until August, FS's lines or getting smaller and smaller, but still a 3hr wait...
