Hi folks...

I'm having what seems to be a very common problem, the non-emptying trashbin. I've tried all the recommeneded terminal suggestions, but the damn thing still refuses to empty.

I have two os hard drives, one with 9 and one with X. I don't like classic, so when the need arises I option/reboot my mac into 9 and it's just like it was before X was installed.

So here's my question:

When in 9, where might I find those pesky trash-files from X? I'm thinking they will be deletable from 9 if I can locate them.

Thanks!

try taking the stuff out of the trash file and putting it in the new folder, then restart into OS9 put them into the trash basket and empty it.

That is what I would do (If I still had OS9 on my computer :))

I think the files are kept in a folder called .trash but I am not sure.

They are kept in /.Trash
...
unless you are using 10.1.4 in which case trash items for the main harddrive are kept in the /Users/username/.Trash folder and all other harddrive trash items are kept in /Volumes/volumename/.Trash

You should be able to delete the files under OS X by using a combo of sudo and rm. But OS 9 will work too...

Good luck
