iweb site analytics and forms?

hi there. i'm really new to iweb, but wanted to know how i can see the web analytics of my site. does iweb have this capability -- similar to squarespace where it provides data on site visits, etc? also, once the user enters a form, can i have that form exported into excel, i.e. name, email address, etc to create my database? any help would be appreciated. thanks.

Well this sounds like a job for MAMP (Macintosh Apache MySQL PHP).
In short, you need to create a database using mySQL, and set the relevant fields, then you need to create your website in PHP, here are some links that you may find useful, however iWeb may not be totally useful for your purpose, (i have tried it, and it is not worth the headache, as far as server side scripting goes).

oh dear. i don't know even know what those acronyms means which means i have no shot in even doing them.

i appreciate your response, but does that mean there are no added features i can pay apple for and/or a service which would do site analysis for my web site?

i am a complete novice in this arena.

To be honest, I'm as much of a rookie as you appear to be at this, but I've been doing some research on similar things, and...

1. You might want to have a look at Wufoo (http://wufoo.com/) for the web forms. Whilst I'm not sure if you can export them, you can create your form online through their website, then grab the HTML code and paste it into iWeb (using the HTML Widget).

2. For analytics, have you had a look at Google Analytics (http://www.google.com/analytics/)? I'm sure others will have better ideas on this, tho!

sorry, completely forgot about google analytics, and iv never heard of wufoo, may have to have a butchers (see if any PHP is involved)
