i'm sure it'll be clearly marked. i'd guess it to be either the one by french's bakery or the one by pottery barn.

I was thinking about getting there around 12-3, depending on who else is going to be there early. I don't want to be the weird dude stalking around the mall at 1 in the morning unless there are other people with me.

Last year the Mall Security wouldn't let people line up till 5am, with the store opening at 8am; I wonder if they'll tolerate earlier lines?

What time is everybody else planning on showing up?

You are right. I work for South Coast Plaza Congierge. Security will kick out all and any who go on to South Coast Property before 5am. At 5am, they will allow people to start lining up by the glass door by Pacific Whey Cafe. at 6 am they will let everyone in the Plaza in a single line to line up infront of the Apple Store. Then we all know what time Apple opens, 8am!! WOOT WOOT!:)

According to Apple's website (http://www.apple.com/retail/southcoastplaza/)

It looks like they got iPhones across the board and in other stores too. So you can most likely get an iPhone on Saturday.

hey guys I'm actually at the store right now, its 8:33pm and almost closing time on July 18th. Since I have nothing better to do tonight, I'll be here around 2am and you guys can meet up with me outside of the mall. There is a parking garage where we are allowed to wait in our cars and talk until the security lets us in the mall - at least that's what we did last year heh.

Security just kicked us out. I literally pulled up and a group of about 8 people were being kicked out....told to come back after 5am when they would let us line up.

I went to my car and tried to start it....and it wouldn't start. Hahhaah piece of ****!!

So security gave me a jump....and now I'm at dennys parking lot with my car in idle because I don't want it to break down....so I can get to the sgore on time.

Man.....this phone better be worth it.

well, now I'm at home writing this from a brand new iPhone 3G S 32GB (black) and i must say that the OS speed is significantly faster thanks to the new ARM Cortex A8 processor in this baby. It was a good launch this year, and I look forward to seing you guys again next year.

Dang that sucks bro, happened to me last year. I had to wait until 2pm to get my phone activated, it was intense so I just took a nap while waiting ahah.

i JUST left.

it took us that long to get my account all set up.

Major shoutout to Chris Hayes at Apple for making it all happen. He was on the phone w/AT&T for about 1.5 hours getting me set up!

When i left, the line was about 10-20 people long....
