how to share a PC's Internet with my mac?

hi,

I'm living in a dorm this summer and for some reason, my suitemate gets wifi on his PC and my mac can't pick it up. What do I have to do to his pc to make of share the Internet with my iMac G5? Thanks so much!

That sucks. There should be no reason why your mac can't get wifi, but try this. Though, i'd make sure it's cool with your roommate first.

On the broadcast side, can you see the SSID, or is it hidden? Is MAC (not Mac) filtering enabled?

From the Mac's side, what are your Airport settings as far as DHCP, proxies, etc? Everything at default, or have you set yourself up for another specific network?

hmm that macosxhints trick didn't work (because his connection is wirelss), thanks anyway. And yes my settings are default, my airport can find the network but somehow can't use it in a web browser. Strange, and frustrating...

so any advice on how to share a pc's wireless connection? Any help would be much appreciated!
