Does Leopard's transparent menubar and 3D dock take away a lot of system resources?

I heard about this somewhere. Does the transparent menubar and 3D dock really take a lot of system resources? I heard it uses the GPU heavily. 😕
 
No. Don't worry about it.

GPU speed <> CPU speed = no effect on your computer's speed.

Even if the transparent dock did affect your computer's speed, it would be so negligible even on a G3 iMac.
