I'm trying to install 3 updates here which includes 10.5.3 and when my MBP reboots it starts the install config and then just hangs at the very beginning of it. I leave it for a little bit and it still does nothing. I have to hard power off and reboot. I've tried it like three times now. Why won't the updates install??

You probably need to do an Archive & Install and then update again to 10.5.3. I had problems where it wouldn't restart at all.

An Archive & Install is a real hassle though isn't it? Doesn't that completely reinstall Leopard? And I suppose that means I'd have to backup all my files before I did that. Why won't this stupid update just install!
