1.25 mhz combo, airport, 512 ram, newish 80 (or 60 I can't remember) HD.
It has mild nicks around the edges and the delete key is missing. Battery holds decent charge.
I have an offer for $140 from craigslist but I see ones on ebay going for 200+ with shipping additional. So I thought I would put a feeler out here if anyone is interested.
I think it is the Logic board. It won't power up anymore so I will have to remove the HD to wipe it clean or sell it without a HD.
I also have an igo car adapter and original wall adapter.
Any offers? I need to decide soon.
Thanks
Brenda

If you're going to sell it w/o a HD, I'd be interested in the HD possibly

Well the problem with the Hard Drive is that I cannot erase it.
I would love to sell it IN the ibook.
I bought a new ibook 14", dvd/cd, 80hd, 133ghz for $250 (YEAH!) and they left ALL their info on their HD. If I wasn't honest, I coulda really used their info. I thought about a way to erase mine but I don't want to take the chance of trying to put the old hd into the new ibook and erasing it because I might harm the new one in the process. It's a shame cuz it's a relatively new hd.
If anyone has any suggestions, i'd appreciate it.

You could leave some large magnets on top of it for a few days, nothing heavy enough to crush it though. The magnets will disrupt the files and corrupt most within a few days. I've heard of varying levels of success with this, but I know it's one way people do it.

To wipe your hard drive:
Just pop in your OS X restore disc, select your language, then go to Utilities > Disk Utility. Under the "Erase" section, there should be a "Security Options" button or something to that effect. You can choose how much security you want, just keep in mind the more secure you make it, the longer it will take.
Once it's done, you can re-install OS X for the new buyer - I like to turn it off before it restarts to the intro movie (but after the install is complete, of course) . That way, the new buyer can input his/her own information.
Hope this helps. :)

Yes, BUT if it gets to close to the bios (first thing that boots that tells stuff whats what) gets screwed up by magnets, the HD is toast.
OP: try poping in a gparted live cd and reformat that way, should work

He can't use the restore CDs because obviously he can't boot up his ibook. Try buying a firewire external hard drive enclosure (http://cgi.ebay.com/Mini-Drive-2-5-Hard-Drive-Enclosure-Firewire-USB-2-0_W0QQitemZ140240704553QQihZ004QQcategoryZ158817QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem) and pop your old hdd in there, hook it up to your new ibook and you can use the Migration Assistant and transfer all your old files to the new computer. After that go to disk utility and do a full erase and click on the security tab and do a 7 zero write pass.
Hope this helps with your sale. I'd buy this but I'm done with the ibooks :)

If you're parting it out, I'd really like a rubber foot for the computer and one for the screen. Please PM me if they are available.

I already took the hd out. Do you think if I put my two 5" diameter magnets on both sides for a few days it would do it?
I really don't want to purchase anything at this point, just as soon keep it in case I drop the new one (like I did today:eek:!) Speaking of, can I use superglue on the frame piece around the battery? It broke off cleanly and can be fit back in and the battery put in but if superglue wouldn't hurt, I'll just glue it back.
How much do you think this would bring for parts on ebay? With and w/out hd?
:)
