Just like the Leopard launch, we hope to be first (or near first anyway) in line at the 3g launch. Who else plans on going?

If it becomes available at 6pm on the 11th, what time would would the line start at? Also, from what location (at the outside center of the mall next to the Cheesecake Factory?).

Thanks!

Be interested in knowing what time you plan on starting the line as well. I was planning on going here or the AT&T store in Camarillo (it's a bit closer to my apartment). It's actually kind of funny, I work at one of the squadrons at the Point Mugu naval base and including me there's four people in my shop that are planning on getting the new iphone on release.

Jake, where did you get the 6pm time slot? or do you mean if there's any more available by 6pm? i'm from Ventura County as well, so i plan to have all available AT&T branches covered in our area on 11 July.

Hi Jarvijarv.

Either Appleinsider or Macrumors posted a rumor/speculation that it'll be available at the same timeslot that the original iPhone was launched at last year (6pm.) I'm in Ventura, so it's a small drive and I'm trying to decide if I go to the Apple store or the AT&T store in Ventura.... We'll hopefully know more soon as the day creeps up upon us.

I remember the line for the first phone at the TO mall. I have no doubt it'll be just as big. The question is how many phones they're getting. I'm thinking of hitting up the ATT store closer to me though. I don't know yet.

Anybody know how many phones they ended up having? I went to the ATT store in Ventura and at 4am I was 15th in line (19th by opening due to people holding spots - LAME). The Ventura ATT store had 60 phones - 20 16g black, 20 16g white and 20 8g's. I got my 16g black and my v1.0 is on ebay now. Lol. I just popped my SIM in from my previous phone connected to iTunes around ~6pm yesterday and confirmed my iTunes customer info and was done. It didn't even seem to do any kind of registration or anything. Although I did do a restore from a sync that I did with my 1.0 phone just before I "restored" the new one. Maybe that helped. Regardless, I'm up and running.

Oh yeah, what about accessories? The ATT store didn't have any docks or screen covers.

The line was outside when I went for the 3G at least. I assume there will be other lines for pre-order purchases, but I'm not sure since they didn't offer that for the 3G.

Called T.O. mall and spoke to security.
Line will be forming before 7a.m. at the main entrance...wherever that is.
Once 7 hits, all guests will be escorted to the apple store.

There will be two lines one reserved and the other for walk-ins

Asked about people camping out, he said since the first iphone came out, no one has camped out.
He said that could change.
As of Monday, no campers yet.

Hope this helps.

Got in at 8:45am, got out of there at 9am. Took about 15 minutes in the store. Could have cut it down 5 minutes or so by activating at home.

Picked up the bumper. Packaging looks cheap, but it looks ok on the phone. In the limited playing with it so far, I don't see the yellow discoloration in the LCD or the dropping of the bars when I am holding the phone (but I got the bumper hoping that would help if there were issues). The phone had around 80% battery bar when I turned it on.

Walked around, I'd guesstimate the preorder line was 300 or so long. Walkin line maybe 150 or so. Only a sprinkle of people going into the preorder line (none for the walkin line) as I was leaving.

I'm guesstimating yes, but I'd get there a bit earlier though if I were picking up, simply because it sold out so fast online. I'm getting mine shipped to me this time though, so I don't have to get up early. :) This store seems to get a good supply of iPhones in, but it's also a popular store in the area.
