i wasnt thinking of selling my MBP, and not sure if i will....but a co-worker was thinking of getting one, so i said id think about selling mine. However, i dont know what is fair-market price for reselling one. Its a 15" MBP C2C 2.16 with 3GB of ram and a 160GB HD. I have had it about a year and 4 months. any suggestions about a selling price if i decided to do this?

Try pricing with this website (http://www.mac2sell.net/).
I have the same laptop with 2GB RAM and it just sold on eBay for AU$ 1700ish. Also had AppleCare to 2010.

Sorry about this but valuations are only permitted within the Marketplace, so I've moved the thread and retitled it. Thanks.

Well, your computer is sometimes available from the Apple Refurb store for $1449. That's probably a good starting point. (Add for memory and larger hard drive, subtract for no warranty and 1.5 years of use).
If you were to try to sell it here in the Marketplace, I'd say $1200-$1300. You'd probably get more on eBay but the fees are ridiculous.

HI. I bought this Macbook Pro Last year and I dropped it (in its case, fell on the zipper). It works fine, but the hard drive could go out at any time (I am told) and I cried. Their is a small zipper dent in the front where the hard drive is located. It wasn't holding a charge until I re-installed mac OSX. Now it seems to be working without the external hard drive and holding a charge. What should I charge for this. I have an offer of $625. Thanks.

Considering its history plus the potential cost of a HDD replacement I think $625 sounds fair. I would give you $650 though.

Can you post pics? I think it would better give me sense of what price to suggest. You also said it still has Applecare warranty right?

I have got a lot of offers for $650. Is that fair for me and the buyer? It is out of applecare.
