May well be a repost, apologise! Everyone has been reading like me about the potential updates and redesigns etc etc etc that will come with the introduction of montevina but nobody has mentioned the MBA.

Am i right in thinking that the montevina platform comes with a smaller chip, if so does anyone think the air will get its first update around the same time? I personally not interested in buying one as I need more spec but it just intregued me.

that kinda sucks. I'd have thought they'd get those things into there ASAP. Imagine the moaning if the MBP only got updated once a year!

Montevina MBA Speculation

Montevina update is trickling in for all notebook segments and MBA will be one of them. MBA won't get a case redesign (already thin), only speed bump with faster and lower voltage processor and memory, which in turn provide longer battery life and cooler overall system.

If we base the specs on the recently leaked ThinkPad X200, the following specifications may "likely" be updated in MBA refresh:

* Intel 45nm Core 2 Duo processor 1.86GHz ~ 2.4GHz 6MB 1066MHz FSB
* 1.5v DDR3-1066
* DisplayPort
* WiMax
* Up to 6.6+ hours of battery life

that sounds like a good jump to me. Would even make me consider buying the air if I was in the position to!

You say it as if it's not already the truth.

Core 2 Duo in Nov 2006, Santa Rosa LED in June 2007 and Penryn Multitouch in Feb 08 😕
