When ever there is a dark area on my screen Little red dots move all around the area. When I mean dark spots I mean black web site or dark screen saver or dark area in a picture or anything in any app. I'm wondering if my 22" is Fu*ked or it doesn't get along with my ATI 9800. I also run a second display (15") on it as well. Any ideas how to test it or fix it?

Plug your screen into your PowerBook and see if it still gives you problems. If not, you know it's the card. If it does, it's the display.

I remember hearing someone else report the exact same problem somewhere, and I believe they said it was a defective Radeon card--the card was overheating or something like that. I'd call Apple support and get them to fix it.

Tricked out G5: Red spots in OpenGL apps? (http://episteme.arstechnica.com/6/ubb.x?a=tpc&s=50009562&f=8300945231&m=72710031)

My roomate had something similar with white dots when he got a Radeon 9800 recently. It turned out the heatsink was on crooked, and that was just the first sign of the card overheating. When he straightened it, the dots went awayOr call Apple and get a new card, and/or another one with the same problem.

But depending on the use and environment, if another card doesn't solve the problem -- you may need to upgrade the heatsink.
