Keep it simple, how much will your monthly bill come to? Here is what mine will look like:

$59.99 - 900 Minutes (No way I can get by with 450)

$30.00 - Unlimited Data/Internet (Must Have)

$20.00 - Unlimited Text (Its a text world)

$4.99 - Insurance (Must Have)

$114.98 - Total before taxes/fees

$10.00 - Taxes & Fees (Estimated)

$124.98 - Grand Total

I currently pay $71.00/month with Verizon but I dont have data. With AT&T it will be roughly $55.00 more a month

$40 (450 voice)
$15 (1500 text)
$30 (unlim data)
----------------
$85 (pre-tax)
-20% corp discount

$68 (sub total)
+$15 (rough taxes)
----------------
$83 (grand total)

I figure my new bill will come out to roughly $15 more than I'm paying now. After taxes and everything I'm paying $95.. so add in the extra $10 for data and another $5 for text..

I'm looking at about $110..

OH, PS, I forgot that I get 15% off now.. so that will help negate the 12.50 in govt fees and taxes..

Currently I pay $55 with taxes on Sprint (with unlimited txts).

That's me trying to veen off txt messaging and that's gonna be tough. There's no way I'm paying $20 for texts on top of what already means $30 more just to use the iPhone.

Chicks love to text.....and since I love the chicks, the text plan is a necessary evil. 😀

I will be paying £59 ($120) for the handset, then £45/month ($90) for pay monthly, which consists of:

Minutes: 1200
Texts: 500
Unlimited Data & WiFi
Visual Voicemail
Reduced Roaming Rates
18 Month Contract.

Agreed, but no. I refuse. See my long rant about the ridiculous cost of text messaging in another thread that may now be burried a few pages down.

Agh, daylight robbery.

$89 for voice
$30 for data
? text (has this been released from at&t what the extra cost
will be or if any are included in the $30 data?) depending on
the cost i might not add any text

$119 + tax (maybe more depending on text)

No texts are included in the plan. $5 = 500, $10 = 1500, $15 = unlimited.

Either 150 or 140 depending on if i upgrade my wifes phone as well.

Of course this is also if 3G show up in my area by then.

These charges are getting high...I remember when cell phones were first popular, just a few years back and we had to find $40/month out of the budget. Now we're at $80 - $110.

I also have still have home phone, home broadband and cable/satellite TV. How many just use the cell phone as only phone line?

Not sure what we as consumers can do but we need to stop this trend of the cell companies charging more and more for each individual item. Maybe not purchasing text message is a start? Let's boycot texting! (easy for me as I'm 35...)

All this makes me laugh when my fellow Americans complain about gas prices. Magically, we all seem to have money for cell phone and other "luxury" items.

I'll be going for the £35 I think. One thing to remember of course, is that our minutes and texts are ours to use...the Americans use up minutes and texts when someone else calls them or texts them!

My wife and I only use cell phones. I don't think gas is high (yet).
