Who is as excited about this as I am?

This alone makes the $300 phone, $70/month plan SO worth it.

GO CUBBIES!

That does look awesome. Video highlights right after it happens is something I would use at work all the time. I wonder what the price will be.

Pretty nice, I demoed the 1.2MB, 800K, & 400K and the 1.2MB seems to work best for me. I think I'm watching my Los Angeles Dodgers really soon! Go Dodger Blue! :p

Don't they charge $3.99/mo for this type of functionality from MLB.com anyway?

Can iPhone Apps have a monthly service charge, or just an upfront charge?

They do, and I don't think so.
Hopefully they'll make it a good deal, I don't know.

All I know is they need to get MLB.tv on there so I can watch my Yankees on the go.

Can iPhone Apps have a monthly service charge?

They sure can.

Well, not the app itself. I believe that once you've bought it they can't charge again.

But an app like this depends on a service. You'll have a name and password and they can simply disable your name if you stop paying. You'll still have the app, but it won't do you any good.

It's just like how you have to pay for this content on MLB.com right now. You're not being charged for Safari...you're being charged for the account.

Well, Gameday is free, and they provide video updates and such, right? I see this as a miniature gameday feature.

it looks cool. I don't think it will be free though.
I also wonder how well it will work with EDGE.

Now, I'd buy that one. Go um, hmm, used to be Packers but with Brett gone, can't get into them any more. Supposed to be Saints but my heart is never into it. Go, everyone!

Without the Montreal Expos, that App is useless.

Everyone was a fan of Brett no matter which team you rooted for.

I feel your pain. I had been an Expos fan since 1977. :(

I really think that this is gonna be big because it's during the baseball season and the fact that you can see who's batting, pithing, on-base, the ball/strike count, EVERYTHING! i am going to love this app

Go RANGERS!

Not to sound too negative, but while baseball is one of the greatest sports - if not the greatest sport - MLB.com is by far one of the worst companies I have ever had to deal with. I doubt this will be worth much in the long run, or imagine it becoming anything less than an overpriced subscription following this season including more commercials than coverage.

Time will tell, but I'm not holding my breath.
