I had a TON of research videos that I transferred to many DVD's (using another machine, not my Mac). Now I would like to take individual CHAPTERS from many of those DVD's and edit them into an iMovie.

I've read this is not possible???

I do have TOAST, but can't quite figure out the logistics. Any help is appreciated.

I'm sure its simple to many of you, but I'm an old guy and its a bit complicated for me.

I get the VIDEO_TS but for each chapter there are:
VTS_01_1.VOB
VTS_01_1.BUP
VTS_01_1.IFO

Thanks - FINALLY switched over to Mac (loving the hell out of it) - just learning a whole new language - Any help is appreciated

Matt

Try using Handbrake (http://handbrake.fr/) to rip the DVDs into .mp4 files that you can then import into iMovie

If your DVDs are unencrypted and you want the ability to extract individual chapters, as opposed to extracting the entire dvd at once, try Cinematize.

i downloaded handbrake to convert my home movie DVDs to .mp4. When I tried to import them into final cut pro it said "file error: 1 file recognized, 0 access denied, 1 unknown"... does final cut not import .mp4? what did i do wrong? thanks
