One of the things that bugs me about the touch interface is that it's harder to quickly navigate music than a traditional click wheel. When the touch is in sleep or locked mode it's easy enough to double click the home button but the navigation icons (back, play/pause, forward) are too small to be easily used without looking at the touch.

It seems to me that perhaps a better way to implement this would be to have a big navigation overlay dividing the screen from top to bottom with the the three navigation controls, essentially creating three giant buttons from top to bottom.

After double clicking the home button it would be easy to press the top of the screen to go to the next track, the middle of the screen to play/pause, or the bottom of the screen to go back.

Does anyone else think the music interface could still be improved to make the ease of use closer to the click wheel?
