View Full Version : iTunes...how does it write over 700 MB on disc???

Hmm. I burn CD's from AAC/MP3 format all the time, but have never really payed attention to the size of the burned data.

I just made an audio CD and iTunes says it burned 785 MB onto the disc...but the disc is only 700MB!@$%

Explain this to me:confused:

A standard 80 minute CD can hold up to 700 MB of data files. Music is different. Because CDs were designed for storing music, they can do so more efficiently. You can store up to 800 MB of music on a CD (1 minute = 10 MB). If you want a more technical explanation, I can provide one :)
