I have a older OS 9 program that needs to have the CD in the drive.
That sucks.

So I made an iso and I can mount it, but OS 9 in Classic Mode does not see it as a "CD". How do I do that?

I would keep it in the drive but I think something is bugged because if the drive is let idle for about 10 minutes, it crashes the whole machine locking everythign up but the mouse.

Shouldn't it not make a difference?

I look in terminal to see how it mounts and it's different.
I've read as much too.

If you have Toast, try mounting the image in Toast rather than through the Finder. I've, uh, heard it through the grapevine *ahem* that some programs which need to see a CD in the drive can be fooled with a disk image mounted in Toast.
